Executive Director

Dr. Mary Sims-Johnson, MSW, LCSW has served as the Executive Director of Madison County citizens Services Agency (MCCSA) since 2009. She considers herself a servant progressive leader. Since taking leadership of the Agency, she has focused on agency development, professional quality service delivery, expansion of services and programs and financial sustainability. As the Agency continues to develop, it is recognized for progressive services and outstanding improvements. She has place the Agency in the forefront by increasing federal funding, exceeding program goals and expanding client services in Madison County.

As a servant leader, administrator, role model, mentor, educator and field instructor, Dr. Johnson serves on many boards and has received numerous awards throughout her career. She is Vice-Chairman of the Excel by 5 Steering Committee in North Madison County, he Social Work Licensure Committee Chairman with the Mississippi Association of Community Action Agencies, the Central Mississippi Local Workforce Investment Board and the Mississippi State Madison County Family Consumer Advisory Council.

She has served as a National Grant Reviewer with the U.S. Department of Human Services, appointed to the Governs Juvenile Detention Facilities Task Force/Chairman of Program and Service Committee, City of Jackson Mayors Task Force Against Violence, appointed to the National Runaway Homeless Youth Technical Assistance Board, appointed to the National Runaway Switchboard Program, Education and Research Board, and the Southeastern Network of Youth and Family Services Board of Directors.

Some of her awards include the Top Management Award for Southeastern Region with SEN, Field Instructor with School of Social Work at Jackson State University, selected the First Social Worker of the Year at Catholic Charities, Inc., the Special Employee Recognition Award at Catholic Charities, Inc. and the first and only Field Instructor inducted into the National Phi Alpha Honor Society at Jackson State University School of Social Work.

Dr. Johnson has extensive Professional Certifications, Professional Affiliations, Research Activities, and Training Certifications.

General Information Madison County Board of Supervisors:

Madison County is governed by a 5 member Board of Supervisors. Each member is elected from the district in which he or she resides. Board Members serve a four-year term with elections occurring every two years for alternate districts.

3rd Monday of each Month 5:00 p.m.

The MCCSA Board of Directors meet every third Thursday of the month at 9:00 a.m. in the conference room on the first floor of the Madison County Chancery Building on the square.
